September Newsletter
As an athlete, you’re not just juggling school and training—you’re also learning how to take care of your mind and body so you can perform at your best. Balance doesn’t mean doing everything perfectly. It means having tools to stay focused, reduce stress, and protect your energy so you can succeed in the classroom and in the gym or studio.
1. Time Management = Less Stress & More Confidence
Using a planner, calendar, or app may seem simple, but it’s a powerful mindset tool. When you schedule your classes, assignments, and training, you free up mental space. Instead of worrying about “Did I forget something?” you know exactly what’s next. That sense of control reduces stress, which allows you to focus more clearly in practice and perform with confidence.
2. Mindful Breaks Reset Your Brain
Going straight from schoolwork to training, or vice versa, can feel overwhelming. Taking even 3–5 minutes to do a breathing exercise, a short visualization, or quiet stretching helps your brain switch gears. It’s like pressing a reset button—you’ll show up to practice more present, focused, and ready to give your best effort.
3. Stress Management = Stronger Mental Game
When stress builds up, performance usually goes down. That’s why it’s important to have go-to strategies: journaling to clear your head, positive self-talk to boost confidence, and breathing to calm nerves. The more you practice these tools, the more resilient you become—not just in school and practice, but in competition too. Don’t forget we have some free resources that you can download and try on our website!
4. Energy Check-Ins Protect Performance
Your energy is like your fuel tank. If you never stop to check it, you risk running on empty. Protecting your energy now helps you perform better later. When you plan your time, manage your stress, and listen to your energy levels, you’re not only keeping school and training in check—you’re setting yourself up to perform at your highest potential.

QUICK REMINDERS
Scheduling:
Please remember that you are responsible for scheduling your child's coaching sessions. Sessions can be scheduled via the online portal. In the effort of making this coaching as beneficial as possible, please note that the sessions should be one-on-one between the athlete & Emily. We love parents! However, athletes speak more freely with an outside/3rd party which leads to more beneficial coaching.
Lastly, please try as best as you can not to schedule sessions when in the car. As convenient as it might sound to schedule the session on the way to rehearsal or practice, more often than not this causes video calls to cut in and out (or freezing) which results in a lot of wasted time. Again, we want this coaching to be as beneficial as possible, and malfunctioning video calls take time away from the session.
Online Portal:
The online portal is where you will be able to schedule sessions and download/share documents as needed. Please bookmark this link (you can also find in on the CMC website): https://championmindsetconsulting.clientsecure.me/
You can also download the free app (for iPhones AND for Androids) for even easier access to scheduling.
Cancellation Policy:
I don't experience late cancellations often (and for that I am very grateful to you all!), but every once in a while it does happen. Because this takes away a spot from other athletes who would've liked to get in, we will be enforcing the cancellation policy which states that any session cancelled less than 24 hours ahead of time is subject to a $25 fee. I completely understand that sometimes things happen that are beyond your control, so in these situations please reach out.
Waiting/Cancellation List:
If you are trying to schedule your athlete and the day/time you want is taken, please reach out to me and I will put you on a cancellation list for that particular day/time. If a cancellation occurs, I will contact you first to see if you'd still like that spot!
